In a critical Kolkata League encounter, United Sports overcame Mohammedan Sporting 3-1 at the Mohammedan ground on Saturday. This victory propels United closer to Super Six qualification, leaving Mohammedan with a tougher battle ahead.

The match was fiercely contested from the start. United took the lead in the 47th minute with a header by Romingthanga. Sujal Munda doubled the advantage in the 81st minute. Though Mohammedan’s Mahitosh Roy managed to pull one back, Sujal sealed the win with a late goal during added time.
This win places United third in the points table, enhancing their chances of progressing, while Mohammedan faces an uphill task to remain in contention.
