The stage is set for a blockbuster clash as Mohun Bagan faces Bengaluru FC in the Durand Cup semifinals at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan on November 27. Excitement among the Mariners’ fans has reached a fever pitch, but police have issued strict guidelines, banning the entry of tifos, smoke candles, and other flammable items into the stadium.

Both teams, along with the Durand Cup committee, have been informed of the restrictions. Fans have also been urged to adhere to these measures to ensure safety. The match is scheduled for 5:30 PM, and Mohun Bagan enters the semifinal after a thrilling penalty shootout win over Punjab FC. Bengaluru, on the other hand, edged Kerala Blasters with a last-minute goal in their quarterfinal.

The much-anticipated derby, originally planned for the group stage at this venue, was canceled, adding to the buzz surrounding this semifinal. Mohun Bagan, the defending champions, are aiming to retain their title, having defeated East Bengal in last year’s final. With Shillong Lajong eliminating East Bengal this year, a repeat of the iconic derby in the final is off the cards.
Whether tifos are present or not, the passion of Mohun Bagan fans will undoubtedly energize their team. To book a spot in the final, Jose Molina’s side must overcome a determined Bengaluru FC. The stakes couldn’t be higher as both teams eye Durand glory.
