The era of Kalyan Majumdar as secretary of East Bengal has concluded. Serving since 2002, Kalyan Majumdar stepped down from the secretary role due to health reasons. Taking his place is Rupak Saha. Concurrently, the club also appointed a new president, Pel Lal-Holud. Dr. Pronab Dasgupta, who held the president’s position for over thirty years, has been succeeded by Murari Lal Lohia. Despite this change, Pronab Dasgupta remains a key advisor to Lal-Holud.

While Kalyan Majumdar relinquished the secretary role, he remains in a deputy secretary position. Assisting him are Ajay Krishna Chattopadhyay, Shankar Bagri, Shubhashis Chakraborty, and Rahul Toddy. Speaking on his first meeting with the newly elected executive committee, Rupak Saha stated, “Today marked the inaugural meeting of the competent committee of the century-old East Bengal Club. They are committed to steering the club towards excellence at all levels of management.”

The new committee represents a blend of experienced and novice members from various segments of society. Alongside field-savvy individuals and technologically adept personalities, this cohesive committee aims to align East Bengal with current demands and set it on the right path for the future.
