Odisha FC’s Zahoor tackle left Anirudh Thapa nursing an injury, but Chennaiyin FC coach Jose Molina is optimistic about his midfielder’s recovery. While Thapa trained on the sidelines with the physio on Tuesday, his participation in Saturday’s clash against Jamshedpur remains uncertain.
Greg Stewart also continues rehab, with Molina unwilling to rush his return. The Scotsman may be fit for the following game against Chennaiyin. Meanwhile, Ashish Rai, nursing a hamstring injury from national duty, observed Tuesday’s practice session but remained off the field. Molina is exploring right-back options for Saturday.
New signing Jason Cummings impressed in training, while Dimitri Petratos’ sharp shooting showcased his determination to rediscover top form. Molina introduced innovative drills like vortex football to keep the team sharp.
Currently second in the league, Mohun Bagan can draw level on points with table-toppers Bengaluru FC with a win over Jamshedpur. However, Molina will also need to manage without his assistant Igor Tasveski, who has returned to Serbia following his mother’s passing.
All eyes are on Bagan’s clash, as they aim to strengthen their position in the race for the league title.
