Mohammedan Sporting managed a narrow 2-1 win over bottom-placed Patha Chakra, keeping their Super Six hopes alive. The reigning Kolkata League champions struggled to assert their dominance, despite taking the lead in the 20th minute through Mahitosh Roy.
Patha Chakra equalized via a penalty in the second half, piling pressure on Mohammedan. However, Israfel Dewan emerged as the savior, scoring the winner deep into added time. Despite missing several chances, the Black and White brigade secured the much-needed three points.
With 13 points from seven matches, Mohammedan climbed into the top three, reigniting their hopes of advancing in the competition. However, their lack of consistency remains a concern for fans and management alike.
