In their opening match of the Euro Cup against Scotland, Germany made it clear why they are considered one of the contenders for the cup on home turf. The Germans thrashed the Scots with a resounding 5-1 victory. However, despite the speed and dominance displayed, Germany could have scored more goals, which was fortunate for Scotland.

Right from the first minute on home ground, Germany began with relentless pressure. Young talents like Musiala and the pace from players like Werner set the tone from wing play, making their passing seemingly unstoppable. Starting as they meant to go on, Germany maintained their dominance throughout the match. The only regret for Germany in the entire game was not scoring more, particularly in unexpected goals like Rudiger’s own goal.

Germany’s first goal came from Florian Wirtz’s feet. With precise skill from the right side, Toni Kroos extended the ball outside the box with perfect execution, trapping the young German forward. At that point, the match was only 10 minutes old. Nine minutes later, the goal came from young Musiala’s feet. Within 20 minutes, Scotland had already absorbed two goals. Their crisis worsened in the first half. Defender Protias saw a deflected shot from inside the box, also received a penalty from Germany. From the penalty, Haverz finished 3-0.

Germany must be set in half-formation, even ten. The second half may be even more. However, was less dangerous comparatively so. Germany, however, looks like Champions.
