East Bengal’s hopes of revival under interim coach Bino George fell flat as they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Jamshedpur FC. Despite numerous opportunities, missed chances and a penalty miss by Crespo condemned the Red and Gold Brigade to the bottom of the table.

George, who made minimal changes to the starting XI, saw his side dominate possession early but falter in execution. Clayton and Talal’s missed opportunities were glaring, with Clayton squandering multiple open chances in the first half.

Jamshedpur struck first in the 21st minute, courtesy of a thunderous shot by Rei Tachikawa. The second blow came in the 70th minute when Chungnunga’s own goal ended any hopes of a comeback.

Crespo’s penalty miss summed up East Bengal’s woes. His weak effort made Jamshedpur’s goalkeeper’s job effortless. Despite their persistent attacks, the Red and Gold lacked sharpness in the final third.

The team’s struggles have left fans questioning the impact of the managerial change, as East Bengal remains winless and firmly at the bottom of the league.
