East Bengal finally tasted victory in the ISL, defeating North-East United 1-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium. Following a draw against Mohammedan, Oscar Bruzon’s men carried their newfound confidence into this must-win encounter.

Dimitri Diamantakos scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute, heading in a perfect cross from Madiha Talal. North-East United struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, with Aladin’s efforts denied by the woodwork and goalkeeper Gill’s heroics.

Both teams ended the game with 10 players, as North-East’s Bemammer and East Bengal’s Chungnunga were sent off in the second half. Despite late pressure from North-East, East Bengal’s defense held firm, securing their first win of the season.

With four points from eight games, East Bengal remains at the bottom of the table but hopes this win will spark a turnaround.
