East Bengal maintained their winning streak in the Durand Cup with a 3-1 victory over Kashmir’s Downtown Heroes FC on Wednesday. Despite missing key players due to injuries, the Red and Gold brigade delivered a spirited performance at the Kishore Bharati Stadium.
Madi Talal opened the scoring with a stunning free kick in the 22nd minute. Downtown Heroes briefly equalized, but a penalty converted by Saul Crespo restored East Bengal’s lead before halftime. Substitute Jeakson TK added a third in stoppage time, securing a comfortable win.
The result highlights coach Carlos Cuadrat’s tactical brilliance, as East Bengal continues to build momentum ahead of their AFC Champions League qualifiers.
