East Bengal Honours Armando Colaco with Grand Felicitation

On February 1, 2025, East Bengal Club felicitated their former head coach Armando Colaco, who was recently awarded the Dronacharya Award. Colaco managed the club from November 14, 2013, to February 19, 2015, and famously won his debut match against rivals Mohun Bagan. Former players like Deepak Mondal, Alvito D’Cunha, Soumik Dey, Arnab Mondal, Mohammad Rafique, and Subhasish Roy Chowdhury attended the ceremony at the club tent. Club officials presented Colaco with a bouquet, an honorary certificate, framed photos, a watch, a personalised jersey, traditional attire, and sweets. Former team doctor Shambhu Samrat Samajdar, administrator Debabrata Sarkar, and club officials like Kalyan Majumdar and Rupak Saha shared fond memories. Colaco referred to East Bengal as his “third home” after his own house and Dempo SC and expressed deep pride in being part of the club’s rich legacy.
