Ahead of the upcoming Kolkata Football League Premier Division, a mandate has been imposed requiring teams to field a minimum of four sons of the soil in their starting elevens. Representatives of Premier Division clubs convened at the IFA office on Wednesday under the supervision of IFA officials. It was during this meeting that this decision was unanimously adopted. The two clubs from the Premier Division whose relegation was decided due to their point deductions are yet to be determined. In light of unrest and allegations of violence during matches such as the Kanyashree Cup and the G.C. Ray Memorial, the G.C. Ray Memorial team has been suspended for one year, with coach Arup Ghosh and technical director Debakar Basu suspended for five years. On the other hand, Parth Ghosh, coach of Debraj Club, has been suspended for two years for creating excitement on the field and using unrepeatable language towards the referee.

The allegations of fixing against both the Talligunge Progressive Club coach Micky Fernandez and footballer Shubhdeep Ghosh are still under investigation by the police. Until their investigation report is released, both are suspended. Despite not meeting the coach’s prescribed qualifications for the Premier Division League, the Khidirpur Club has been fined fifty thousand rupees for hiring. The decisions were taken at the meeting of the Discipline Protection Committee at the IFA office. In addition to the committee members, IFA President Ajit Bandopadhyay, Secretary Anirvan Dutta, Treasurer Debashish Sarkar, Vice Presidents Saurabh Pal and Swaroop Biswas, Assistant Secretary Sufal Ranjan Giri, Rakesh Jha, and Nazrul Islam were present.
