The Bengal women’s football team bounced back in style at the National Games with a commanding 3-0 victory over Manipur on Sunday at Goa’s Tilak Maidan. After a goalless first half, Bengal dominated the second half to claim all three points.

Sulanjana Raul opened the scoring in the 60th minute, giving Bengal the crucial lead. She doubled the advantage shortly after with a clinical finish, showcasing her precision and composure. In the dying minutes, Devnita Roy sealed the win with a third goal, adding to Manipur’s woes and solidifying Bengal’s dominance.

This win puts Bengal back on track after their goalless draw against Tamil Nadu in the opening match. Coach Dipankar Biswas expressed his delight, praising the team’s resilience and tactical discipline. “The girls showed remarkable improvement today. They were clinical and determined to secure this win,” he stated.

Bengal’s next match is against Jharkhand on Tuesday, October 31, where they will aim to continue their winning streak and strengthen their position in the tournament.
